Description

The FS88 from Futronic is an enhanced version of the maker’s FS80 biometric fingerprint scanner. The Futronic FS88 has been designed to comply with the PIV – 071006 image quality specification set by the FBI. Not only does this guarantee the FS88 to be a government approved product, but is also meets the US federal information processing standard 201 (FIPS 201). This makes FS-88 a popular choice for applications such as border control, identity verification, driver’s licence application and more.

The device is compatible with multiple OS such as Windows (XP, Vista or 2007/08 versions), Linux, Macintosh and Android (3.1 or higher with USB host).

USB 2.0 plug and play

The FS88 has been built to be a versatile tool that promises excellent quality images at great speeds. The USB 2.0 plug and play compatibility of the device ensures that you get 320 x 480-pixel images in your PC in less than 100ms.

Unique serial ID for every product

The FS88 from Futronic comes with a unique serial number for every product. This makes each fingerprint scanner traceable. Considering that the FS88 is most widely used for government identity management projects, this factory programmed feature gives the product an edge. The serial ID is programmed into the USB descriptor of every device.

Small size, light weight and robust build

The FS88 is a compact device that weighs less than 150 grams and is just 66 x 66 x 29 mm in physical dimensions. However the device has also been built to withstand the most trying environmental conditions. Designed with a 14mm thick crown glass for the scanning window, the sensor can withstand heavy duty usage.
