Fake finger detection

Description

The M 301 is one of the Mercury series of biometric scanners from Lumidigm that uses multispectral imaging technology. Lumidigm has been the creator of some of the best biometric security solutions for enterprises, and the Lumidigm M 301 is one of these solutions. Setting benchmarks when it comes to processing and image quality, the Lumidigm M301 uses patented image processing algorithms to deliver results in the just 2 seconds from finger placement. This not only ensures security and conventional password hassles are overcome, but also the convenience of users with fewer passwords to remember.

The Lumidigm M301 is typically used in enterprise and business solutions. Right from office punch in to protection of valuable files, the M301 can be a one stop solution to all security needs. The module also comes with unique fake finger detection technologies that ensure that fraudulent attempts to hack into your secured networks are thwarted.

Special Features

Multispectral imaging

The Lumidigm M301 uses patented multispectral imaging technology that delivers high quality images at 500 dpi and 8 bit resolution. It also uses specialized sensors that not only capture the surface level images of the finger but also the deep tissue images. This especially helps the module to eliminate cases like Failure to enroll and Failure to acquire.

USB interface

The Lumidigm M301 also uses a USB 2.0 interface. This can be used for easy integration with peripheral devices and processing. The USB interface enhances the interoperability of the module.

Spoof detection

The Lumidigm M 301 uses sensors that capture surface tissue and deep tissue data. This is then matched by Lumidigm’s algorithms for fake finger rejection. Human fingerprints have the produce the same image at the surface level and the sub surface level which is 2 mm below the skin level. Fraudulent fingerprints have no subsurface prints and this enables the M301 to intelligently overcome fake fingerprint issues.
