Description

The Lumidigm Venus series biometric scanners are upgraded versions of the manufacturer’s mercury series. The Lumidigm V-series V302 is the first variant of the Venus range of products from HID Global. The device is equipped with Lumidigm’s signature multispectral imaging technology that gives it an edge over parallel products in the market. The Venus series also uses IP65 standard housing cases for all the scanners, giving them the ability to work under physically stressful environments with little to no effect on performance.

The Lumidigm V-series V302 is equipped with USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 interface that enables it to transmit captured data at a faster rate. The V302 is an embedded device that can be used for integration into other products, or act as a standalone system capable of capturing images, template extraction and matching in very high speeds.

Special Features

FBI certified

The Lumidigm V-series V302 is an FBI certified biometric scanner. This gives the product the ability to be used in applications such as banking, border monitoring, voter’s registration and verification and healthcare. The device features WSQ compression and is also consistent with ANSI and ISO standards.

MINEX III algorithm

The Lumidigm V-series V302 is equipped with the MINEX III minutia algorithm. The algorithm when combined with the fast image capturing speed of the scanner, gives outputs and matching results in less than 2 seconds in ANSI and ISO standards.

Liveness detection

With fraudulent attempts to hack into security and encrypted data becoming a rampant threat these days, the Lumidigm V-series V302 provides a liveness detection solution to combat the problem. The scanner uses its patented optical technology to scan both surface and subsurface images of the finger and can easily detect artificial materials like silicone rubber and play-doh.
