Description

Biometric sensors are replacing conventional passwords in all domains from POS to office security. The SecuGen iD-USB SC however takes the concept of fingerprints as passwords a step further by integrating a smart card reader in the module. Not only does this increase security by two-fold, it also reduces user authentication and other errors that can occur with standalone fingerprint sensors working under extreme conditions.

The SecuGen iD-USB SC is typically used for time & attendance applications, logical and physical access control and any other applications that require a multi factor authentication in the form of fingerprints and smart cards. The module is compatible with systems running on Windows (10, 8.1, 8 and 7), Windows server (2012, 2008 R2), Android (version 3.1 and higher) and Linux operating systems.

Special Features

Rugged Build

The SecuGen iD-USB SC also features a rugged design that makes it work under the most extreme testing conditions. The module is resistant to scratches on the scanning surface, electric shocks, vibrations and other forms of interference.

Integrated smart card reader

The SecuGen iD-USB SC features a HID Omnikey 3121 integrated smart card reader. The module supports an ID- 1 full size card. The integrated smart card reader is capable of handling 5V, 3V, 1.8V ISO 7816 Class A, Class AB and Class C card types.

Auto-On™ & Smart Capture™

The fingerprint reader in the SecuGen iD-USB SC features both Auto-On™ and Smart Capture™ technologies. The Auto-On™ feature is capable of operating the reader automatically whenever it detects a live finger placed on the scanner. This makes the scanner power efficient and makes it operate only when needed without a prompt. The Smart Capture™ feature adjusts the brightness intensities of the fingerprint images thus creating only high quality images irrespective of the kind of finger used (wet, dry, scarred or aged).
